[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 17th, Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, cheered together with the residents, wishing for the success of Yeongdeungpo District's participating athletes at the '2022 Seoul Citizens Sports Festival' held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

The event, co-hosted by Seoul City and the Seoul Sports Council, takes place over two days from the 17th to the 18th at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium and various sports venues. The district dispatched a total of 387 people, including about 220 athletes and cheering squads, to compete in 21 sports such as table tennis, jokgu, futsal, and park golf.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, "I am pleased to be able to participate in this festival of community sports held for the first time in three years," and added, "We will spare no support to promote community sports for the unity and health of our residents."

On the afternoon of the 17th at 5:30 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District Office, attended the commemorative ceremony of the 1st 'Nowon Youth Festival' held at the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Lawn Square.

The Nowon Youth Festival, held for the first time this year in celebration of Youth Day, is a festival led and participated in by youth, taking place over three days from the 16th to the 18th around the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail and Gongneung Happy Housing area.

The district organized an art fair exhibiting and selling about 100 works by local young artists, youth artist performances, flea markets, and workshop experience programs, creating a space enjoyable not only for youth but for everyone.

The commemorative ceremony began with a performance by Nowon youth artist 'Rion', followed by guest introductions, presentation of appreciation plaques, congratulatory speeches, and performances.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, "I would like to once again thank the Youth Festival Planning Team who worked hard for the 1st Nowon Youth Festival," and added, "We will carefully ensure that the energy of our 150,000 youth can be fully expressed and that their voices are reflected in district administration."

As autumn arrives in September, various local village festivals are being held throughout Mapo District (Mayor Park Kang-su), where Park Kang-su visited festival sites to encourage residents and have conversations.

On the morning of the 17th, Mayor Park attended the 'ON Village Festival' in Seogang-dong and the 'We Are the Owners, People of Yonggang-dong' festival in Yonggang-dong, and in the afternoon, he participated in the '2nd Memories Drop by Drop Mangwon-dong Bangulnaegil Festival' held around Mangwon-dong.

Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, "I am glad to be with many residents at local village festivals where everyone communicates and enjoys together," and added, "I hope that enjoying festivals reflecting the unique characteristics of our area will create special memories and serve as an opportunity for greater harmony among neighbors."
