XYZ to Showcase Barista Robot Coffee Truck 'MLB Home Run Derby X'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Service robot startup XYZ will showcase a mobile cafe called "LoungeX Popup" using a robot coffee truck at the global sports project "FTX MLB Home Run Derby X Seoul," hosted by Major League Baseball (MLB) on the 17th.

FTX MLB Home Run Derby X is a global project where four representative MLB teams (Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees) provide new viewing experiences through a novel game format.

The Seoul event, held at Paradise City Hotel Culture Park, will feature MLB legend players as well as Korean baseball national team legends such as Lee Seung-yeop, Park Yong-taek, Jung Geun-woo, and Kim Tae-kyun. To commemorate the event, K-pop performances by Heize, Psy, and Crush are also scheduled.

At this event, XYZ will open the mobile cafe LoungeX Popup using a coffee truck equipped with a barista robot. Leveraging the barista robot’s ability to consistently brew coffee regardless of time and location through cloud-stored algorithms, the project is designed to provide the same experience outdoors as in a store.

The LoungeX Popup truck at the MLB event will offer a total of six beverage menus, including robot-drip coffee. Four types of bakery desserts, such as choco sticks and financiers, are also prepared to accompany the drinks.

Especially for customers enjoying the outdoor event, convenient and portable RTD (Ready To Drink) beverage products will be introduced. The newly launched "LoungeX Titled Cold Brew RTD" this month will also be sold as a set product with a cooler bag.

An XYZ representative said, "We are pleased to showcase LoungeX’s robot drip coffee at this event featuring MLB legends and domestic KBO legend players," adding, "Starting with this opportunity, we plan to actively expand the operation of the robot coffee truck ‘LoungeX Popup.’"
