[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-su) held the Hongmungan Busking Tour festival, "Let's Sing Together," at the resident rest area near Exit 3 of Mapo Station on the 16th from 5:30 PM for two hours.


On this day, various busking performances such as magic and mime acts, crossover violin performances, and K-POP dance were held, and a quiz and selfie event with Mayor Park Kang-su and residents was organized to boost excitement.


Mayor Park Kang-su of Mapo-gu said in his greeting, "Today's busking performance was prepared to offer great sights and entertainment to the residents and visitors of Mapo," adding, "I hope COVID-19 will be completely eradicated soon so that cultural performances like today’s and the local small businesses can regain vitality."

On the 16th at 6:30 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2022 Danghyeoncheon Water Music Concert' held at the ground fountain near Seongseo University.


This concert was organized to comfort the hearts of residents and provide healing time with beautiful performances and high-quality music along Danghyeoncheon, a beloved late summer walking trail for the residents.


The event proceeded with the opening, introduction of guests, congratulatory speeches, and performances attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, guests, and residents.


The performance began with a grand piece by the Western Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Bang Seong-ho), followed by an elegant stage featuring baritone Kim Dong-gyu and jazz vocalist Go Ah-ra, and concluded with a performance by singer Park Ki-young, loved by the public for her refreshing vocal power.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon-gu said, "We prepared a unique concert so that people can enjoy the performance along with the flowing water," adding, "We will continue to strive to present performances that provide a pause in daily life for our residents."

The 2nd term Gangseo SNS Supporters, who will vividly convey the major policies of Gangseo-gu (Mayor Kim Tae-woo), have launched.


The district held a commissioning ceremony at the district office at 5 PM on the 16th to announce the official start of activities for the 2nd term Gangseo SNS Supporters.


The 2nd term supporters consist of 20 members from various age groups including university students, office workers, and housewives. Over the next two years, they will create and promote content related to residents' lives and various events through the district office’s official SNS channels.


Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "In this rapidly changing information age, the influence of social media is growing, making SNS promotion increasingly important," adding, "I sincerely congratulate you on becoming the promotional team of Gangseo-gu."


He continued, "Please actively work to widely share key district news closely related to residents' lives, such as redevelopment and reconstruction information for improving residential environments in original downtown areas like Hwagok-dong and Banghwa-dong, news about Magok Cultural Street transforming into a street of youth and arts, and efforts to ease airport height restrictions to protect the property rights of Gangseo residents."

Yongsan-gu (Mayor Park Hee-young) and Heping District of Shenyang City, China, signed a friendship exchange agreement on the 15th for various cooperative projects in administration, economy, and culture.


Considering the COVID-19 lockdown situation in China, the signing ceremony was held online. Officials from Yongsan-gu, Shenyang City, and Heping District met via screen, and the 40-minute event proceeded with an opening speech, city introductions, greetings, and signing of the agreement led by the Chinese host.


Heping District belongs to Shenyang City, which is the center of land trade exchange between Korea and China and was a base city for Korean independence movements by expatriates. Among them, Heping District’s Korean Street formed during the Japanese colonial period (currently ‘Seotap Korean Street’) plans to be remodeled benchmarking the Itaewon tourist district after the agreement.


Mayor Park Hee-young of Yongsan-gu said, "I am pleased to join hands with a tourist city famous for its beautiful scenery and the first intersection station of the Trans-China Railway upon the connection of the inter-Korean railway," adding, "We will promote various exchange and cooperation projects that share successful cases between the two cities and create synergy."
