Sangsaengnamu Launches 2nd Session of 'Bravo Senior Digital Village Happiness School'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] The nonprofit organization Sangsaengnamu and the Tobeu Village School in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, are operating the 2nd term of the Digital Village Happiness School to bridge the digital divide among the elderly in local communities who are excluded from digital devices.

On the 16th, an entrance ceremony for the 2nd term of the "Bravo Senior, Digital Village Happiness School" was held at the Tobeu Village School education center with elderly residents of Wolam 3-ri, Illo-eup, Muan-gun, and the digital school will be operated until next month.

The nonprofit organization Sangsaengnamu aims to ensure essential digital accessibility for the elderly's digital inclusion by collaborating with village schools to solve accessibility issues and providing lifestyle-oriented digital education reflecting the characteristics of the elderly.

The Digital Village Happiness School's education consists of a total of seven sessions, offering various programs such as ▲voice phishing prevention using the Citizen Conan app ▲photo editing and health management using smartphones ▲online communication ▲smart use of YouTube, and to resolve inconveniences caused by non-face-to-face systems used in daily life, it will also include ▲kiosk usage ▲experience with unmanned restaurants and unmanned cafes.

The Digital Village Happiness School is a digital competency enhancement education project aimed at solving social issues such as generational digital gaps and digital exclusion of the elderly, despite digital transformation being an innovative change that allows various benefits.

Meanwhile, the digital competency enhancement education project is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, NIA Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency, and Jeollanam-do, with education conducted by TMD Co., Ltd. and Sangsaengnamu. It provides free customized digital competency enhancement education for all citizens, including digitally vulnerable groups.
