[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced on the 16th that it has imposed and notified 524,438 cases of property tax for land and houses (second installment) for September 2022, totaling 4.2 billion KRW.
This property tax was imposed on land owners (excluding land attached to houses) and house owners (for property tax amounts exceeding 200,000 KRW) within the jurisdiction as of the tax base date of June 1, and payment is due by the 30th.
The amount of property tax imposed in September increased by 10.6% compared to the previous year, with the rise in individual publicly announced land prices (9.6%) being analyzed as the main factor for the increase.
Property tax can be paid conveniently from home or workplace without visiting financial institutions by using internet payment, virtual account transfer, automatic transfer, and other methods.
Also, even without a tax notice, payment is possible at bank CD/ATM machines using domestic credit cards (or bankbooks).
A county official stated, "Property tax is an important local revenue used for the welfare of residents and regional development as a county tax," and added, "If payment is made after the deadline, a 3% surcharge will be imposed, so please make sure to pay within the due date."
For more details, inquiries can be made to the county finance department's tax table team or the general affairs officers at each eup/myeon office for detailed guidance.
