The site of Onyang Grand Hotel in Oncheon-dong, Asan City, known as the prime land in the original downtown area of Asan, is about to undergo a complete transformation.
The development project of the Grand Hotel site, which is located in a key area within the region and has attracted much attention from local residents, had been delayed due to the Cultural Heritage Committee's review. However, recent news of a new complex supply has heated up the local atmosphere.
Hyundai Engineering plans to launch sales in September for ‘Hillstate Asan Central,’ a complex with a total of 1,213 households on the former Onyang Grand Hotel site.
‘Hillstate Asan Central,’ which is receiving great interest locally, will be built in the Oncheon-dong area of Asan City, Chungcheongnam-do, consisting of 6 buildings ranging from 6 basement floors to a maximum of 49 floors above ground. It will include 893 apartments with exclusive areas of 84 to 127㎡ and 320 residential officetel units with an exclusive area of 92㎡, totaling 1,213 households.
As the tallest residential-commercial complex with 49 floors in the heart of the original downtown, it is expected to become a regional landmark, creating a high-quality living environment and accelerating local economic revitalization.
In particular, living conditions are excellent, befitting its reputation as ‘prime land.’ It is located within walking distance of Onyang Oncheon Station on Subway Line 1, making it a transit-oriented development. Through this station, residents can easily access Cheonan Asan Station, where KTX and SRT trains stop, and the Asan Intercity Bus Terminal is also nearby, facilitating convenient travel outside the city.
Travel by car is also convenient. The nearby Chungmu-ro provides easy access to National Route 39, facilitating entry and exit to the metropolitan area. The first section of the Dangjin-Cheonan Expressway (scheduled for 2025), between Asan and Cheonan, is set to open this December, further improving the transportation network.
Commercial areas such as Onyang Oncheon Market are well established near the complex, and shopping and cultural facilities like Hanaro Mart, E-Mart, Lotte Mart, and Lotte Cinema are located within a 2 km radius. Additionally, Onyang Oncheon Elementary School is nearby, and several schools including Onyang Girls’ Middle and High Schools and Asan Middle and High Schools are within walking distance, providing excellent educational conditions.
As a complex close to workplaces, commuting is convenient. It is located near various industrial complexes such as Samsung Display Asan Campus, Atangjeong Techno General Industrial Complex, and Tangjeong General Industrial Complex, all accessible within about 10 minutes by car. Furthermore, Asan City Hall, Daejeon District Court Cheonan Branch, and Asan City Court are also nearby, making commuting conditions favorable.
According to a real estate official, “In the Oncheon-dong area of Asan’s original downtown, major hotel sites and nearby residential-commercial development projects have been underway but faced difficulties due to rejection in the cultural heritage alteration review. As the first project to open the door to original downtown development, ‘Hillstate Asan Central’ is expected to attract significant interest from waiting demand.”
Meanwhile, the model house for ‘Hillstate Asan Central’ is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in September.
