Jeonnam Fire Department Holds Fire Investigation Academic Conference... Aiming to Enhance Professional Skills

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 15th that it held the 18th Jeonnam Fire Investigation Academic Conference at Boseong County Youth Training Center.

The Fire Investigation Academic Conference is a competition where cases of fire investigation techniques accumulated at fire scenes are researched and presented. It is held annually with the purpose of improving the professional capabilities of fire investigators and promoting academic exchange.

At the conference, more than 50 fire investigation officers from 20 fire stations in the province attended and presented research results on cases they experienced and learned at fire scenes, engaging in a heated competition.

The judges, composed of external experts and internal personnel, conducted a fair evaluation and selected Haenam Fire Station as the best institution, Damyang Fire Station as excellent, and Naju Fire Station for encouragement awards, respectively.

Haenam Fire Station received high praise for a research case that used the Internet of Things (IOT) to accurately determine the point of ignition and was granted the qualification to participate in the 2023 National Fire Investigation Academic Conference hosted by the National Fire Agency.

A representative of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters said, “We will do our best to clearly identify the cause of fires based on the professional knowledge and skills demonstrated at this conference.”
