Opening of the 'Gangbuk-gu 1-Person Household Support Center'? From Professional Counseling to Hobby Activity Support

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced the opening of the ‘Gangbuk-gu 1-Person Household Support Center,’ which provides customized programs and professional counseling tailored to single-person households.

Located in Beon 1-dong, the 1-Person Household Support Center began official operations on the 13th after a pilot operation period.

The center operates various programs to enhance the self-care capabilities of single-person households and to address issues of emotional isolation.

First, through initial consultations, the center offers in-depth individual counseling tailored to the circumstances of each participant. For members with common interests, group counseling sessions on topics such as mindfulness, stress relief, and self-care are conducted.

Additionally, to support hobbies for single-person households, small groups in various fields such as cooking, art, and health will also be operated.

Furthermore, diverse programs are planned, including financial management programs that improve asset management, investment techniques, and consumption habits, as well as activities to raise environmental awareness such as making zero waste products and practicing plogging.

The 1-Person Household Support Center operates as an integrated part of the Gangbuk-gu Family Center. Visitors can receive family administrative services all in one place, including support for single-person households, premarital classes, family support before and after divorce, childcare support, and family-friendly cultural programs.

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, “In addition to the 1-Person Household Support Center, we are promoting policies for single-person households such as the ‘Gangbuk-gu 1-Person Household Support Ordinance’ and ‘Prevention of Stalking and Dating Violence Crimes.’ We will implement administration that satisfies all single-person households through customized support by age and generation.”
