Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has prepared the 2022 second supplementary budget to respond to the difficult livelihood economy caused by high inflation and high interest rates and to promote district urban development.

This supplementary budget totals 28.2 billion KRW, funded by an additional revenue budget of 26.4 billion KRW and 1.8 billion KRW secured through expenditure restructuring.

Of the 7 billion KRW policy project budget, about 3.8 billion KRW (55%) was allocated to livelihood economy countermeasures responding to high inflation and economic recession and to key urban development projects.

The supplementary budget consists of ▲two livelihood economy countermeasure projects including ‘Additional issuance of 10 billion KRW worth of Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates’ (2.07 billion KRW) ▲eight key projects for district urban development such as ‘2040 Gwangjin Plan’ (1.72 billion KRW) ▲four pilot projects under ‘Gwangjin Resident Communication Budget’ reflecting residents’ opinions, including ‘installation of security CCTVs’ (440 million KRW) ▲other project expenses (960 million KRW) ▲and 1.77 billion KRW for 30 national and city subsidy projects.

Also, the district will issue an additional 10 billion KRW worth of Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates fully funded by the district, offering a 10% discount on purchases to increase purchase rates and boost sales for local small businesses, thereby revitalizing the local economy.

Additionally, the district allocated 180 million KRW for the ‘Small Business Complex Support Center Construction Project’ totaling 4 billion KRW including national and city subsidies, to establish a comprehensive support facility for sewing industry small businesses in Junggok-dong. Simultaneously, support funds for improving the working environment of small sewing companies were increased by 20 million KRW from the existing 80 million KRW to 100 million KRW, and an additional 300 million KRW was secured from city subsidy projects, expanding the working environment improvement project to a total of 400 million KRW.

Second, the district is investing in key projects for urban development in the 8th term.

The related budget includes 700 million KRW for establishing the ‘2040 Gwangjin Plan’ for comprehensive urban planning revision, 680 million KRW for ‘maintenance of aging public sports facilities’ and ‘support for school playground maintenance,’ 17 million KRW for operating the ‘Gwangjin Development Communication Committee’ to discuss local issues with residents and experts, and 80 million KRW (part of a total 230 million KRW) for the ‘AI and IoT-based senior home health care’ project, totaling 1.72 billion KRW for eight projects.

Furthermore, 440 million KRW was allocated for four projects under the ‘Gwangjin Resident Communication Budget,’ including ‘installation of security CCTVs’ and ‘safety reinforcement construction of facilities in Hongryeonbong Park,’ prioritizing residents’ safety.

In addition, 350 million KRW was allocated for seven new projects, 610 million KRW for ten projects with insufficient funds, and 1.77 billion KRW for 30 national and city subsidy projects.
