According to Samsung Electronics on the 14th, Vice Chairman Lee met with Panamanian President Laurentino Cortizo at the Panama City Presidential Palace to request support for hosting the '2030 World Expo' in Busan, held a meeting with corporate heads, and spent time communicating with employees.
The day before (local time), Vice Chairman Lee visited the Panama branch to encourage employees. The Panama branch is Samsung Electronics' first overseas branch. Panama is also the country to which Samsung first exported color TVs in 1977.
According to Samsung Electronics, Vice Chairman Lee sent holiday gifts to families of long-term business trip employees who stayed abroad without returning home during the Chuseok holiday to fulfill their duties.
First, he sent 'dried yellow corvina fish sets' as gifts to the families of about 20 long-term business trip employees in Korea. These long-term employees work at Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung C&T, and others.
Additionally, Vice Chairman Lee gifted the latest Samsung mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs to 86 members of 10 families of Samsung employees with six or more children. These employees belong to Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Heavy Industries, S-1, and others.
A Samsung Electronics official said, "The reason Vice Chairman Lee sent gifts to families with multiple children is to encourage employees and their families who overcome the difficulties of balancing work and childcare and dedicate themselves to the company, family, and society."
