[Featured Stocks] Recovery in International Passenger Traffic... Jin Air and Other LCC Stocks on the Rise

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] As international passenger transport performance rapidly recovers, LCC (Low-Cost Carrier) companies are showing an upward trend.

At 10:54 AM on the 13th, Jin Air was trading at 17,600 KRW, up 6.99% compared to the previous trading day. Jeju Air grew 3.29% during the same period, reaching 15,700 KRW.

The rapid recovery of international passengers is analyzed to be driving the rising stock prices of low-cost airlines. Jin Air operated 601 flights, a 1402% increase compared to the same period last year. International passenger transport reached 8,830,000,000, a 39,155% increase during the same period. Jeju Air operated 906 flights, and international passenger transport was 1,122,000, representing increases of 687% and 2440%, respectively, during the same period. Yang Ji-hwan, a researcher at Daishin Securities, said, “Looking at Incheon Airport’s August transport performance, passenger numbers are recovering faster than expected, while cargo is showing a slowdown,” adding, “LCCs’ international passenger supply and transport volume are also recovering rapidly.”
