Pose, Consecutive Wins of Global Design Awards After First Reveal
LG Electronics Receives a Total of 13 Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Ye-joo] LG Electronics announced on the 13th that it received a total of 13 awards, including the top prize, the Gold Award, at the IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards), a globally recognized prestigious design competition.
IDEA is a design award hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and is celebrating its 42nd year this year. Each year, it selects and awards product designs that have made significant contributions to the field of industrial design. Along with the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award, it is considered one of the three most prestigious design awards worldwide.
This year, LG Electronics won the Gold Award for its lifestyle OLED TV, the 'LG OLED Objet Collection Pose.' LG Electronics self-assessed that this achievement is significant as it was created through active collaboration with various customers who have a strong interest in actual interior design, from the early stages of product design planning to uncover hidden customer needs and present a lifestyle TV design that customers truly desire.
This product also won the top prize at the 'Red Dot Design Award' in June, consecutively sweeping global design awards since its first unveiling. Earlier, at the 'iF Design Award 2022,' another product from the LG OLED Objet Collection series, the 'LG OLED Objet Collection Easel,' received the top prize.
In addition, LG Electronics' representative premium home appliances were recognized for their design competitiveness. Two products, the 'LG InstaView Side-by-Side Refrigerator,' which features a flat door design without protrusions that lights up the interior when knocked to easily check the type and quantity of stored food, and the 'LG Studio Microwave,' which has a simple integrated hood design without door handles, both won Bronze Awards.
Furthermore, 10 products including the LG Drum Washer and Dryer, plant lifestyle appliance LG Tiun, new-concept air purifier fan LG PuriCare AeroTower, built-in appliances LG Studio Refrigerator, Oven, Range, and self-ordering LG Kiosk each received main awards.
Lee Cheol-bae, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics Design Management Center, said, "We will continue to present advanced designs that go beyond pursuing the beauty of product exteriors to inspire customers' lives and expand the experience of using products."
