Creation of Scenic Agricultural Complex in 'Gwangsan' Village... 'Autumn-Tinged Ecological Sculpture Exhibition' in Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan

Weed-Free Chrysanthemum and Narrow-Leaf Sunflower Fields Open Until October 20

Creation of Scenic Agricultural Complex in 'Gwangsan' Village... 'Autumn-Tinged Ecological Sculpture Exhibition' in Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan The Autumn Nature Ecology Sculpture Exhibition, held until October 20th at Gwangsan Village Landscape Agriculture Complex in Wolri, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Have you heard of the "scenic countryside," where chrysanthemums and narrow-leaf sunflowers bloom abundantly in the fields, beautifully colored by autumn without any weeds?

Busan's Gijang-gun operates an agricultural complex cultivating 12 types of scenic crops over an area of 14,850㎡ on fallow farmland in front of Gwangsan Village, Won-ri, Ilgwang-eup.

The scenic agricultural complex consists of crops such as narrow-leaf sunflowers, chrysanthemums, pampas grass, scrung, panicum, and flat barley sedge, which showcase the beautiful fields.

Scenic crops are cultivated primarily to beautify the rural landscape. They cover the soil to prevent soil and nutrient loss, suppress weed growth, and provide various functions such as supplying organic matter and nutrients.

The fallow farmland in Gwangsan Village, Ilgwang, is contaminated with heavy metals due to mine water flowing from an abandoned mine shaft, and about 9.5 hectares have been designated as unsuitable for crop cultivation.

On the 1st of this month, Gijang-gun and the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation signed a business agreement to promote rural amenity and practice ESG management in abandoned mining areas. They created a scenic agricultural complex in the fallow farmland area of Gwangsan Village, Ilgwang, transforming it into a beautiful space for citizens to enjoy.

This year, together with the Gijang Natural Artists Association, they are operating the "Autumn-colored Natural Ecology Sculpture Exhibition" until October 20, providing both visual attractions and enjoyable activities.

The Natural Ecology Sculpture Exhibition is a display featuring local artists from Gijang, including artist Moon Byung-tak, making it even more meaningful by adding Gijang's artistic culture.

A Gijang-gun official stated, "We will contribute to regional economic development by creating beautiful rural landscapes and enhancing rural amenity."
