Grandson on Probation for Hitting Grandmother with a Club After Telling Father He Received "20,000 Won Allowance"

Repeated Assaults to Head and Arms with a Blunt Object

Grandson on Probation for Hitting Grandmother with a Club After Telling Father He Received "20,000 Won Allowance" A grandson who assaulted his grandmother with a blunt weapon because she told his father that he gave himself 20,000 won in allowance was sentenced to probation.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] A grandson who was prosecuted for repeatedly assaulting his grandmother for telling his father that he had received pocket money was sentenced to a suspended prison term.

According to the legal community on the 8th, the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 6 (Judge Bae Gu-min) sentenced A (20), who was charged with special assault on a lineal ascendant, to 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspension.

Earlier, A was charged with repeatedly hitting the head and arm areas of his lineal ascendant grandmother B (71) with a blunt object at his residence in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, at around 4:50 p.m. on November 18 last year.

Investigations revealed that A had previously received 20,000 won in pocket money from grandmother B, and committed the crime because B told A's father about this fact.

The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant carried a dangerous object and committed the crime, and assaulted a vulnerable victim who is a lineal ascendant," but also considered "the injuries sustained by the victim were minor and the victim's intention not to press charges."
