Request for Traditional Market Shopping Participation to Related Organizations and Social Groups
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it will promote traditional market shopping until the 9th in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
About 500 people, including Gokseong-gun public officials, are purchasing holiday ritual items and daily necessities using local love gift certificates (Gokseong Simcheong gift certificates).
They also requested related organizations and social groups in the region to join in traditional market shopping.
Gokseong-gun hopes that this shopping campaign will serve as an opportunity to revitalize traditional markets that are struggling due to weakened consumer sentiment.
Governor Lee Sang-cheol also visited the traditional market on the 8th.
While purchasing ritual items and other goods himself, the governor encouraged merchants and listened to their difficulties.
The governor said, “I hope many people visit the traditional market where they can feel generous hospitality and hometown affection, and purchase high-quality and affordable agricultural specialty products and ritual items.”
Additionally, Gokseong-gun will simultaneously promote a price stabilization campaign in anticipation of price increases during Chuseok.
They plan to publicize so that traditional market merchants can sell products at reasonable prices.
Also, on the 24th, a joint inspection team composed of experts in fire facilities, electricity, gas, and building fields conducted a preliminary safety inspection to ensure that visitors to the traditional market can visit with peace of mind.
