Foreign Currency Cash 'Hana Million Dollar Account' Deposit Cash Fee Waiver Benefit

Hana Bank's Chuseok 'Finding Hidden Foreign Currency at Home' Forex Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hana Bank announced on the 8th that it will hold a foreign exchange event called 'Finding Hidden Foreign Currency in Your Room' until the 30th, allowing customers to deposit foreign currency cash received as New Year's money or leftover foreign currency after overseas travel, which they have no immediate plans to use, into foreign currency accounts free of charge without any fees.

This event offers a waiver of cash handling fees to customers who deposit any of 12 types of foreign currency cash, equivalent to up to 500 US dollars, into Hana Bank's representative foreign currency account, the 'Hana Million Dollar Account.'

The deposited foreign currency cash can be withdrawn at any time or remitted overseas. Additionally, customers holding the Hana Million Dollar Account can take advantage of up to an 80% preferential exchange rate benefit provided until December 31, making it possible to use the account for currency trading.

Furthermore, Hana Bank is concurrently running an event until March 2 of next year, offering an additional preferential interest rate of 0.50% per annum when customers subscribe to the US dollar foreign currency installment savings and withdraw at maturity. The subscription period for the US dollar foreign currency installment savings is six months, starting from 1 US dollar, with flexible deposits allowed up to 10,000 US dollars.

Kim Ik-hyun, Head of Hana Bank's Foreign Exchange Business Division, stated, "This foreign exchange event not only alleviates customers' concerns about the risk of loss from storing foreign currency cash but also provides an opportunity to offer various foreign exchange service benefits to our customers." He added, "We will strive to introduce foreign exchange services that anyone can easily use in their daily lives."
