[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Yeongyang-gun Women's Association held a "Chuseok Gift Package Sharing" event on the 8th at the Yeongyang-gun Comprehensive Welfare Center kitchen, with about 20 members participating.
This sharing event was held to wish neighbors a bountiful Chuseok. Members carefully prepared and packed soup, seasoned vegetables, steamed rice cakes, and other dishes from early morning, delivering the Chuseok gift packages along with greetings to 60 households vulnerable to food insecurity in the district, creating a warm atmosphere.
Established in March 1987, the Yeongyang-gun Women's Association has consistently supported food-insecure groups by conducting annual winter kimchi sharing, preparing birthday meals for elderly living alone, and sharing holiday foods. This year, they once again practiced sharing during Chuseok.
Chairperson Choi Gyesuk said, "Due to COVID-19 and changing times, holiday customs have rapidly changed, and more people spend the holidays feeling lonely. I hope this holiday will be a warm one where we share affection with neighbors in need with a heart as full as the full moon."
County Governor Oh Dochang expressed, "I would like to thank the Yeongyang-gun Women's Association for gifting a more precious Chuseok to the marginalized through today's sharing. I hope the association continues to actively serve as a leading organization and become a strong support for neighbors in need in the community."
