[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyun] Major affiliates of Taekwang Group are directly visiting underprivileged groups to offer help in celebration of Chuseok.

According to Taekwang Group on the 8th, infrastructure and leisure affiliate TCIS is conducting the "Love Connecting Calls" with the Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone. This activity is a volunteer service that checks on the safety and well-being of elderly people living alone and provides companionship. Ahead of the holiday, the volunteer activity continues during the holiday period to contact elderly people who may have been affected by typhoon damage. TCIS has been matching elderly people living alone with call center staff on a one-to-one basis to make welfare calls at least twice a week since 2019.

Textile and petrochemical affiliate Taekwang Industrial made early payments for goods to its partners ahead of the Chuseok holiday to promote mutual growth. This early payment initiative was established as part of cooperative efforts to support partners facing difficulties due to the economic downturn and consecutive typhoon damages. Early payment to partners before the holiday has been implemented since 2020.

Financial affiliate Koryo Savings Bank visited the Busan Dong-gu Senior Welfare Center, a regular volunteer institution, on the 7th to deliver support items such as air fresheners and donations to elderly people with weakened immunity, and also provided Chuseok holiday support funds to the Dong-gu Disabled Welfare Center. Yegaram Savings Bank has been actively promoting a missing children search campaign by screening promotional materials and distributing flyers to customers visiting four branches (Seolleung Main Branch in Seoul, Yeongdeungpo Branch in Seoul, Ulsan Branch, and Changwon Branch) since the 1st.

Some affiliates have also stepped up support for customers affected by the recent Typhoon Hinnamnor. Heungkuk Life Insurance has provided various financial supports to typhoon-affected customers, including premium payment deferrals (up to 6 months), insurance contract loan interest payment deferrals (up to 6 months), loan maturity extensions (up to 6 months), and expedited insurance claim payments through simplified documentation, contributing to overcoming typhoon damage.

A Taekwang Group official said, "Although it is a small practice, we will strive to realize the corporate social value of supporting various welfare blind spots to practice the group’s social contribution slogan, ‘Warm Light.’"
