[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] SK Telecom announced on the 8th that it will launch a new bundled mobile and fixed-line product called ‘Yojumgajok Bundle,’ which allows families to receive discounts even when subscribing individually, considering the social trend of increasing diverse family structures such as single-person households.
Compared to existing bundled products, Yojumgajok Bundle is expected to provide discount benefits tailored to customers’ lifestyles by offering ▲a simple and intuitive product structure ▲an expanded range of eligible family members ▲enhanced fixed-line bundle benefits such as internet and IPTV.
First, regardless of the monthly mobile phone subscription fee level of the bundled members, discount benefits ranging from 7,900 KRW to a maximum of 38,300 KRW are provided depending on the number of bundled mobile lines (up to 5 lines).
Reflecting the recent trend of increasing proportions of 1- to 2-person households, the range of eligible family members for bundling has been expanded. Including single-person households, even individuals preparing to form a family, such as engaged couples, can subscribe together, allowing more customers to receive bundle discount benefits.
Fixed-line bundle benefits are also strengthened. Yojumgajok Bundle allows bundling of up to two internet and IPTV lines each, enabling family members living at different residences to receive discount benefits. For example, an adult child who has moved out and newly subscribes to internet and IPTV can bundle these with the internet and IPTV at their original residence (parents’ home).
Additionally, IPTV customers who subscribe to Yojumgajok Bundle will receive a ‘Mobi Data Pack’ worth 5,500 KRW per month free of charge, which allows them to use B tv content on mobile without data charges. The Mobi Data Pack provides unlimited mobile B tv data (1GB per day, up to 3Mbps after depletion).
Furthermore, when using Giga series (Giga, Giga Lite) internet products together with B tv All (an IPTV product that allows viewing of all 252 B tv channels), customers can receive a 3,300 KRW discount coupon for paid B tv content and a discount on AI set-top box rental fees every month during the contract period.
SKT is also running a promotion offering generous benefits to subscribing customers. Until October 31, customers who subscribe to Yojumgajok Bundle and enter the promotion will be entered into a draw to win ▲a Samsung Electronics full home appliance package worth 20 million KRW (1 winner) ▲a one-night stay at the Lotte Signiel Hotel suite and Lotte Hotel vouchers worth 1.2 million KRW (10 winners) ▲Baskin Robbins family-size ice cream gifticons (5,000 winners).
Additionally, the first 40,000 B tv customers who subscribe to Yojumgajok Bundle during the promotion period will receive a 10,000 KRW B tv VOD coupon.
The promotion can be entered via the URL included in the subscription guide text message (MMS) sent to customers or through the dedicated promotion website.
Kim Ji-hyung, head of SKT’s Integrated Marketing Strategy, said, “Yojumgajok Bundle, which allows easy bundling regardless of the number of family members based on customers’ lifestyles, is expected to reduce the communication expenses burden for more customers,” adding, “SKT will continue to strive to launch various products and services considering customers’ usage patterns.”
