Discussion on Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Measures to Alleviate Residents' Inconvenience at the Department Head Policy Meeting

Prepared 26 Detailed Measures in 7 Key Areas Focusing on the Safety of Residents and Returning Visitors

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced that it will operate a comprehensive situation room to prepare for emergency situations during the Chuseok holiday.

Governor Kim Sun-ho held a policy discussion meeting with department heads on the 5th and emphasized meticulous county administration, including the operation of a comprehensive situation room to ensure a safe and warm Chuseok holiday.

At the discussion, Governor Kim instructed the operation of the comprehensive situation room to prepare for emergencies that may occur during the Chuseok holiday, urged thorough promotion of the Citizens' Day event, prior publicity for the lunch break closure system at the civil service office, and strict establishment of public service discipline during the holiday period, calling for proactive work performance for county development.

Gurye-gun has prepared a comprehensive plan for Chuseok and started detailed activities by sector. Considering that the Chuseok holiday poses a high risk of re-spreading COVID-19 and triggering new outbreaks, it plans to strengthen quarantine measures and establish a flawless medical system to support residents in spending the holiday with peace of mind.

During the holiday period, a total of seven situation teams will be organized around the comprehensive situation room's general control team, including disaster and accident, traffic, health care, and water supply countermeasures teams, to promptly respond to various emergencies and actively resolve residents' inconveniences.

In addition, to spread a culture of sharing despite the prolonged COVID-19 situation, visits to marginalized groups will be conducted. Hope items will be delivered to six social welfare facilities and about 3,200 residents in need, leading the creation of a festive holiday atmosphere.

Furthermore, the county plans to establish an emergency medical system with eight locations, including emergency medical institutions and holiday guardian pharmacies, to eliminate medical service gaps during the holiday. Household waste generated during the holiday will be collected normally on the 9th and 12th of Chuseok to minimize residents' inconvenience.

Governor Kim Sun-ho said, “Through the implementation of the comprehensive Chuseok holiday measures, we will focus administrative power so that everyone can have a safe and warm holiday,” and added, “I hope this year’s Hangawi will be a generous and warm holiday.”

Meanwhile, Gurye-gun plans to conduct a ‘Safe Chuseok Campaign in Response to COVID-19’ at the Gurye 5-day Market on the 8th, and the comprehensive situation room will operate from the 9th to the 12th.
