Jinju City Wraps Up First Major Work Report Meeting of the 8th Elected Term The first major task briefing meeting of the 8th civil election term is being held.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, concluded the 2023 major business reporting meeting from the end of August to September 5th in the city hall small conference room, chaired by Mayor Jo Gyu-il, with attendance from national and local directors, heads of departments, and team leaders.


At this meeting, the 2023 major business promotion plans for the first main budget formulation of the 8th elected administration and the direction of city governance were discussed. The progress of key projects actively promoted by each department, issues encountered, and countermeasures were also reviewed.


To establish a “solid self-sustaining power,” the top priority task of the 8th elected administration, in 2023, administrative efforts will focus on securing future growth engines including the UAM industry and completing the three major projects of Prosperous Jinju, as well as visibly creating cultural tourism infrastructure.


Additionally, in-depth discussions were held on what role the city should play to ensure citizens’ safety and welfare improvement, and how to prepare measures to overcome the current crises.


During the meeting, 454 major business promotion plans for 2023 were reported, including 111 pledge projects such as the construction of the KAI rotary-wing flight center, Mayor Jo’s first campaign pledge, and 343 key projects. Furthermore, 23 new policies discovered by each department were reviewed.


Mayor Jo said, “These days, citizens are facing difficulties due to high inflation and high interest rates. In 2023, our city must make the best possible efforts to provide greater hope to our citizens.”


He added, “The second season of Prosperous Jinju under the 8th elected administration is a completely new start. We must carefully examine whether there are any inconveniences in citizens’ daily lives with a fresh and changed appearance that citizens can feel, and do our best to immediately address solvable issues without delay.”
