[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea Racing Authority Busan Yeonje Branch (Branch Manager Bae Gi-han) held a ceremony on the 1st to deliver ‘Love Traditional Market Comprehensive Gift Packages’ for neighbors in need in celebration of Chuseok, together with the nonprofit organization Yeonje Neighbors Love Association (Chairman Jeong Bun-ok).
The Racing Authority prepared and delivered comprehensive gift packages containing necessary food items to 240 vulnerable households in Yeonje-gu, including elderly living alone, child-headed households, single-parent families, and multicultural families. The Busan Yeonje Branch generously donated 10 million KRW.
A Yeonje Branch official stated, “The comprehensive gift packages consisted of a total of 16 items, including shiitake mushrooms, red crab soy sauce, newly harvested glutinous rice, health juice, and KF94 masks. All food items were purchased from the neighboring Yeonsan Market, hoping to help revive the local traditional market that has been struggling.”
About 20 volunteers from the Racing Authority Yeonje Branch and Yeonje Neighbors Love Association participated in the volunteer activity, assembling the gift packages with products purchased from the traditional market. The gifts were delivered to each household through the Yeonje-gu Administrative Welfare Center.
Joo Seok-su, Mayor of Yeonje-gu, encouraged, “I deeply appreciate the heartfelt intention to help neighbors in need during Chuseok and the continuous social contribution activities carried out for the local community.”
Korea Racing Authority Busan Yeonje Branch has supported donations totaling 26.5 million KRW in the first half of this year to revitalize the local economy, support vulnerable groups, and create jobs, and has participated in volunteer activities to improve awareness of people with disabilities.
