Lotte Construction announced on the 7th that it has developed an 'AI for Risk Assessment' and will conduct focused management and support for high-risk workplaces.
Risk assessment is the process of identifying risk factors for all tasks in advance and selecting and implementing countermeasures to prevent safety accidents at construction sites.
The existing risk assessments relied on the subjective experience of workers, which had limitations such as omission of risk factors.
In contrast, the 'Risk Assessment AI' developed by Lotte Construction in collaboration with Lotte Data Communication is expected to address these issues. Safety management staff of Lotte Construction and partner company employees register task details and risk factors for each site, and the system operates by aggregating and analyzing the data.
Key features include ▲ AI-based risk assessment analysis for all construction sites ▲ Customized risk assessment recommendations per task using big data analysis such as KRAS (Risk Assessment Support System) and Lotte Construction's standard work manuals ▲ Detection of risk assessment errors and adequacy review based on text mining that selects necessary data from vast amounts of data and deep learning technology where the computer autonomously analyzes and learns from external data.
A Lotte Construction official stated, "We have established a safety and health management system that prioritizes support, inspection, and management of high-risk workplaces," adding, "We will continuously research and develop innovative safety management technologies beyond existing work methods and expand safety and health investments for practical accident prevention at construction sites."
