Prosecutors Indict YouTuber Kim Yong-ho Without Detention for 'Forced Molestation' of Woman at Busan BBQ Restaurant

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] YouTuber Kim Yong-ho, accused of forcibly molesting a woman at a meat restaurant in Busan, has been formally indicted.

The Criminal Division 2 of the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Ki-hwan) announced on the 7th that Kim was indicted without detention on charges of forcible molestation.

Kim is accused of touching a woman's body and kissing her against her will at a meat restaurant in Haeundae-gu, Busan, around July 2019. The victim, Ms. A, filed a complaint with the police at the end of September last year, submitting video evidence recorded at the time. Some of the videos showing Kim forcibly molesting the victim also spread online.

Kim, a former entertainment reporter turned YouTuber, was sentenced last month to eight months in prison for defamation against former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and others. The court did not order his detention in court, considering that Kim is currently on trial for other criminal cases.
