Typhoon 'Hinnamno' Communication and Paid Broadcasting Damage 84% Recovered

Status of Wired and Wireless Communication and Broadcasting Damage and Recovery (As of 12:00) Table=Ministry of Science and ICT

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 6th that although additional damage to communication and paid broadcasting caused by Typhoon 'Hinnamnor' No. 11 occurred, 84% had been restored as of 12:00 noon that day.

As the typhoon moved inland that morning, damage to wired and wireless communications and paid broadcasting increased from 141,570 lines at 7:00 to 305,986 lines at 12:00.

As the typhoon passed through the Korean Peninsula, the Ministry of Science and ICT expanded the deployment of emergency restoration teams and restored a total of 257,091 lines. The restoration rate rose from 58% at 7:00 to 84% at 12:00.

For wired communication failures, 108,470 lines (84%) out of 120,080 lines were restored, wireless communication restored 3,486 stations (60%) out of 5,847 stations, and paid broadcasting restored 152,758 lines (85%) out of 180,059 lines.
