Hapcheon-gun Opens Direct Market for Agricultural Specialties Ahead of Chuseok

Sold at prices 10~25% lower than market retail prices

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will operate a direct transaction market for agricultural specialty products for Chuseok from the 7th to the 8th at the entrance of the second government office building.

The Hapcheon-gun agricultural specialty products direct transaction market for Chuseok is an event that helps local farmers facing difficulties in sales channels and allows consumers to purchase Chuseok goods directly from producers at affordable prices.

This direct transaction market will be participated by Hapcheon Distribution and Hae-wa In Agricultural Specialty Products E-commerce Association, offering about 50 items including rice, grains, fruits, mushrooms, onion ramen, onion rice cake soup, and New Year's gift sets, reducing distribution stages to sell at prices 10-25% cheaper than market prices.

Kim Hae-sik, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We hope many residents will participate in the direct transaction market, which supports local farmers struggling due to the economic downturn and consumption slump caused by the resurgence of COVID-19, and contributes to revitalizing the local economy.”
