[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cited maintaining her marriage to former President Bill Clinton as the boldest thing she has ever done. Clinton emphasized that her decision to keep the marriage was more challenging than running for president.

On the 5th (local time), former Secretary Clinton appeared on CBS in the U.S. for an interview with her daughter Chelsea.

During the broadcast, former Secretary Clinton confessed that maintaining her marriage to former President Bill Clinton "required a lot of prayer and thought," adding, "It took time to talk with those around me and to agonize. It was painful and difficult."

Nevertheless, she said, "I have no regrets," explaining, "It was something only I could do."

Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton's husband and the 42nd President of the United States, faced difficulties during his tenure due to the so-called 'Lewinsky scandal.'

In 1998, when the extramarital affair between then-White House intern 22-year-old Monica Lewinsky and former President Clinton became public, American society was thrown into turmoil, and Hillary Clinton also became a subject of media coverage.

Especially, local U.S. media reported that the Clinton couple had a "brawl in the bedroom" when the scandal was revealed.

According to the book "The Residence" by political journalist Kate Anderson Brower, the Clintons fought "to the point where the bed was soaked in blood." More than 20 books, including the Bible, were placed around the bedroom. It is said that the angry wife threw dozens of books at her husband.

Nonetheless, former Secretary Clinton later forgave and accepted former President Clinton and has maintained their marriage to this day.

Meanwhile, former Secretary Clinton recently finished filming Apple TV's new documentary program "Gutsy," where she meets courageous women along with her daughter Chelsea.
