50 Plus Foundation, Expert Relay Lectures for Retirement Preparation
Providing Financial Information Needed for Retirement Planning Including Real Estate, Pensions, and Taxation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation announced on the 5th that it will hold a 'Retirement Preparation Concert' consisting of special lectures by asset management experts in collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank to support the successful retirement preparation of middle-aged and older adults.
According to a recent study on the retirement preparation status of Seoul citizens, the financial retirement preparation index (53.62 points) of middle-aged and older adults in Seoul was found to be lower than the non-financial retirement preparation index (57.71 points). This event was organized to help middle-aged generations who need financial retirement preparation by providing basic knowledge and information on retirement asset management, and to raise awareness about financial management after retirement.
This concert will be held from September to December with expert lectures in key areas important for retirement financial planning such as real estate, taxation, and pensions. It will be conducted as a series of four sessions, touring the 50 Plus Campuses (Northern, Western, Southern, Central) monthly from September to December, with each session featuring a different asset management topic.
The lecturers include Park Won-gap, Senior Specialist at KB Financial Group (Real Estate), Lee Ho-yong, Tax Accountant (Taxation), and Kwak Jae-hyuk, Senior Specialist at KB Financial Group (Pensions/Insurance), all professional advisors from the WM Star Advisory Group within KB Kookmin Bank.
The 'Retirement Preparation Concert' is open to all middle-aged and older adults interested in retirement preparation, and from the 5th, participants can pre-register for online and offline lectures sequentially on the 50 Plus Portal.
The lectures will be held both on-site and via live YouTube streaming, recruiting a total of about 5,000 participants. On-site participation is limited to the first 50 people per session who pre-register, to comply with COVID-19 prevention measures, while online participants can watch the live broadcast in real time through a participation link sent to pre-registrants.
Im Sung-mi, Head of the Management Planning Division, said, “In the era of 100-year lifespans, as the importance of retirement preparation grows, we planned these expert lectures in partnership with KB Kookmin Bank to help Seoul citizens design a stable retirement.” She added, “We hope this opportunity will be a useful time for the middle-aged generation to start systematic financial management to prevent retirement poverty.”
