Inspection of Facilities Compared to Tongyeong Seoho Traditional Market and Passenger Terminal

On the afternoon of the 3rd, Choi Man-rim, Deputy Governor of Gyeongnam Province, visited Tongyeong Port Passenger Terminal and Tongyeong Seoho Traditional Market in Tongyeong City, Gyeongnam, encouraging participation in typhoon damage prevention activities such as preventing casualties.
Deputy Governor Choi conducted safety checks on ▲drainage channels in traditional markets ▲temporary removal of arcades ▲falling hazard objects ▲breakwater at the passenger terminal ▲and stored items in the anchorage area to prepare for Typhoon Hinnamnor, the 11th typhoon, and sought to hear difficulties on site.
At Tongyeong Seoho Traditional Market, he reviewed the restoration progress of the arcade damaged by Typhoon Chaba in 2016 and Typhoon Omais in 2021, as well as the customer center facilities that had leaks.
Deputy Governor Choi said, “Please strengthen surveillance activities to prevent damage by removing foreign substances from drainage channels, removing banners, and removing falling hazard objects,” and added, “It is also very important to have standby personnel and manage emergency contact networks in case of emergencies.”
At Tongyeong Port Passenger Terminal, he inspected ▲the status of passenger ship control ▲whether marine debris was cleaned in preparation for the typhoon ▲and the management status and performance of the Seoho Bay drainage pumping station.
He encouraged the officials and requested strengthening of surveillance and inspection activities and taking shelter measures in case of worsening weather conditions.
Gyeongnam Province held a meeting on the 2nd to check the response status for Typhoon Hinnamnor and designated six key management items including landslides, industrial complexes, and traditional markets to ensure safety management in preparation for disasters related to this typhoon.
Deputy Governor Choi said, “We emphasize swift and certain safety management to prepare for typhoon damage,” and added, “We will do our best to thoroughly manage this year’s typhoon preparedness situation to minimize property damage and inconvenience to residents.”
