Review of 2021 Terrestrial Broadcasting Evaluation Results
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 2nd that it held the first meeting of the 12th Broadcasting Evaluation Committee.
The newly formed 12th Broadcasting Evaluation Committee members include KCC Standing Commissioner (Chairman) Kim Chang-ryong, as well as ▲Professor Lee Chang-hyun of Kookmin University ▲Professor Na Mi-su of Jeonbuk National University ▲Professor Kang Myung-hyun of Hallym University ▲Visiting Professor Choi Sun-young of Yonsei University ▲Professor Hong Won-sik of Dongduk Women’s University ▲Attorney Lee Soo-kyung of Hwawoo Law Firm ▲Director Kang Soo-gon of Daesung Samgyeong Accounting Corporation ▲Editor and Planning Committee Member Kim Kyung-sil of Areumdaun Nal Publishing House, totaling nine experts from broadcasting, media, law, accounting, and viewer organizations. The term of office for the committee members is one year.
At the meeting, the Broadcasting Evaluation Committee deliberated on the evaluation results of terrestrial broadcasting for 2021, and plans to review the evaluation results of non-terrestrial broadcasting for 2021 and improvements to the broadcasting evaluation system in the future.
The Broadcasting Evaluation Committee is a statutory committee established under Article 31 of the Broadcasting Act to comprehensively evaluate broadcasting program content, scheduling, and operation of broadcasting operators. It performs roles such as deliberating on matters related to broadcasting evaluation and proposing amendments to regulations concerning broadcasting evaluation.
