Gyeongbuk Ulleung-gun Health Center is providing mental health services.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter An Kyungho] The Mental Health Welfare Center at the Ulleung-gun Health and Medical Center in Gyeongbuk operated a visiting mental health service for two days on August 31 and September 1 in collaboration with the National Bugok Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

This program, consisting of mental health education, stress relief, and dental medical support, was designed to instill a positive perception that anyone can recover if mental health issues are detected early and receive appropriate treatment.

It was conducted at the Namyang-ri Senior Citizens' Center and the promotional hall on the first floor of the medical center in Ulleung-gun, targeting about 100 residents, with mental health screening tests and expert consultations also provided.

Kim Youngheon, director of the Ulleung-gun Health and Medical Center, said, “We will strive to resolve the concerns of elderly people who hesitate to seek treatment due to negative perceptions around them and to eliminate blind spots in mental health.”
