Gochang-gun Strengthens Management of Facilities Vulnerable to COVID-19 Infection with Full Effort

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced on the 2nd that it will strengthen facility management to early block group infections in infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals and nursing homes, where the risk of infectious disease outbreaks is high during the Chuseok holiday period.

The county has designated the five weeks from after the Chuseok holiday until the 30th as a special quarantine measure period with proactive quarantine response measures, focusing on managing 26 infection-vulnerable facilities in the area.

Within infection-vulnerable facilities, all areas are ventilated for more than 10 minutes three times a day by making personal quarantine rules a daily habit, and disinfection measures are carried out once a week.

All workers and residents wear indoor masks and snacks and meals are provided at designated seats.

Workers undergo a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test once a week, and facility users are monitored twice daily for fever and respiratory symptoms. Symptomatic individuals and staff who have had close contact are excluded from work and conduct self-tests.

In case of confirmed cases within the facility, immediate reporting is made through the public health center hotline, and diagnostic tests are conducted until the final test results of all workers and users come out 'negative.'

Also, during the Chuseok holiday period, Gochang-gun Public Health Center will operate 51 personnel/4 teams (screening clinics, respiratory clinics, infectious disease response teams, epidemiological investigation teams) normally as an emergency quarantine measure, and designate 15 emergency medical institutions to thoroughly respond to resident safety from COVID-19 symptomatic testing to home treatment management.

County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, "To have a healthy and safe Chuseok, it is important to make mask-wearing a daily habit and comply with personal quarantine rules. For the prevention of severe illness and death among high-risk groups, those eligible for the 4th vaccination must participate in vaccination," and added, "We will do our best to block the re-spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of our residents."
