Yongsan-gu Conducts Creative New Deal Capacity Building Staff Training
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Many housewives are shopping at traditional markets to prepare for the Chuseok holiday season.
However, shopping in a crowded market while holding a child's hand is not easy. Considering these difficulties, Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Soo-hee), known for its specialized ‘childcare services,’ has prepared a special event for Chuseok this time.
Gangdong-gu, which has been carrying out various childcare support projects, is being praised for planning timely and customized services once again.
From September 6 to 8, for three days, two ‘I-mom Gangdong’ locations (Gildong Branch, Amsa Market Branch) will provide emergency temporary childcare services so that housewives can leave their children and shop with peace of mind.
Unlike typical kids' cafes, ‘I-mom Gangdong’ is a public childcare facility for infants and toddlers that operates programs with different concepts at each branch, as well as offering toy rentals and playground functions.
There are three sessions per day at 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:00 PM, each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. Phone reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9:00 AM on the day at the respective branches. Only preschool children aged 36 months to 7 years residing in Gangdong-gu can be entrusted, and childcare professionals will safely care for the children.
In particular, the ‘I-mom Gangdong’ Gildong and Amsa Market branches are located right in front of the markets, making it convenient to leave children and shop, and are expected to help revitalize the traditional markets, receiving great support from local market merchants.
District Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, “Gangdong-gu is doing its best to create a childbirth and childcare-friendly environment that is good for raising children,” adding, “We hope this specially prepared event will bring vitality to traditional markets and provide enjoyable time for parents and children so that everyone can have a warm Chuseok holiday.”
