Gangnam District (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the ‘2022 Chuseok Agricultural, Livestock, and Marine Products Direct Market’ on the 1st at the district office parking lot to celebrate the Chuseok holiday.
More than 80 farms from over 50 locations nationwide participated, selling holiday ritual items such as Korean beef, pears, and apples, as well as local specialties like mushrooms and dried yellow corvina, at prices 5-30% cheaper than the market.
On the day, Mayor Jo Seong-myeong visited the site to encourage the sales staff and purchased ritual items such as chestnuts.
Mapo District (Mayor Park Kang-su) held the ‘Chuseok Han-gawi Love Sharing Festival’ on the 1st at the 3rd-floor auditorium of Sanseong Church in Ahyeon-dong.

Mayor Park Kang-su of Mapo District said in his greeting, “I am truly happy and grateful to meet the local elderly like this ahead of Chuseok,” and promised, “We will create various welfare policies for the elderly so that they can live without worries in their old age.”
Mapo District is promoting filial piety meals for seniors aged 75 and older under the motto ‘Happy Seniors in Mapo.’ The program provides a balanced diet to prevent malnutrition and uses the meal venues as places for seniors to communicate, aiming to prevent depression and solitary deaths.
Yeouido Full Gospel Seongbuk Church (Chairman Jeong Jae-myung) in Wolgok 1-dong, Seongbuk District (Mayor Lee Seung-ro), donated 200 bags of 10kg white rice as gifts for neighbors in need ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
The Etselbaum Mission of Yeouido Full Gospel Seongbuk Church practices holiday donations every year and continues neighborly love sharing activities. They also prepared and delivered food and daily necessities packages to five single-parent families in difficulty within Wolgok 1-dong, pledging to continue donations for more than a year and expand the number of recipients.
At the donation ceremony, Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk District said, “This Chuseok comes during a difficult time due to the unprecedented prolonged COVID-19 situation, but I am pleased that our residents can spend it warmly because of neighbors who share their hearts,” and expressed gratitude, “Thank you for not forgetting to donate despite the difficult circumstances.”
