[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 1st that it will integrate digital transformation (DX) into construction sites through a partnership with HDC Labs, an AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) company specializing in spatial object intelligence convergence technology.
Recently, the construction sector has been placing significant emphasis on the safety of construction sites and workers, as well as accident prevention. To this end, KT and HDC Labs are collaborating based on a digital platform. The two companies will jointly promote ▲intelligent and digital transformation of construction industry sites ▲technical cooperation and business expansion in video and industrial safety solutions.
Through this collaboration, KT linked the CCTV systems operated by HDC Labs to its intelligent video surveillance platform, GiGAeyes Pro, enabling integrated monitoring of facilities nationwide without additional construction. Additionally, both companies will introduce KT’s industrial safety DX dashboard, KT Safety One, to strengthen not only accident prevention but also response systems.
In particular, KT will utilize its AI technology through these two solutions to provide 24 video analysis algorithms, including fall detection, fire and smoke, intrusion, and facial recognition. This will allow real-time monitoring of construction site video information alongside worker safety data, which is expected to greatly contribute to safety in industrial sites.
Meanwhile, HDC Labs plans to advance its IT solutions through cooperation with KT and showcase enhanced work safety and construction quality at construction sites. Furthermore, based on real-time monitoring, it aims to minimize damage caused by various industrial accidents.
KT and HDC Labs hope this collaboration will set a standard for improving working environments and ensuring safety at industrial sites, and plan to become leading DX operators for safety, health, and environment (EHS) practices.
Kim Hee-bang, Head of BM Innovation Division at HDC Labs (Executive Director), said, “Creating a safety-oriented environment is an essential element of industrial sites, and the role of technologies such as AIoT is crucial. Based on the technological expertise accumulated so far, HDC Labs will cooperate with KT to achieve industrial safety outcomes through digital transformation of construction sites.”
Kim Young-sik, Head of KT DX Platform Business Division (Executive Director), stated, “KT provides intelligent services to over 300,000 CCTV cameras through the cloud-based GiGAeyes platform and introduced the Safety One integrated dashboard this year, which can monitor various safety solutions comprehensively. We will continue to present a higher level of construction safety DX services through ongoing collaboration with HDC Labs and leveraging our platform capabilities.”
