[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) is holding an exhibition themed around their activities to mark their 9th anniversary since debut.
On the 1st, HYBE announced that they will hold the ‘2022 BTS EXHIBITION : Proof,’ themed on BTS's 9-year history since debut.
The exhibition will be held in Seoul and Busan. The Seoul exhibition will be available for viewing from the 28th to November 22 at HYBE INSIGHT, and the Busan exhibition will be open from October 5 to November 8 on the 1st floor of LCT.
Earlier, in April during their Las Vegas concert, BTS showcased various exhibitions as part of ‘The City’ project. The ‘BEHIND THE STAGE : PERMISSION TO DANCE’ exhibition was planned as a photo exhibition capturing BTS’s journey toward a perfect concert. It displayed a total of 240 photos showing BTS’s practice process preparing for the ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ tour that began last year, as well as behind-the-scenes moments from the March Seoul concert, held at the 150-pyeong scale AREA15 in Las Vegas. The photo exhibition featured various photos focusing on BTS members’ sweat-filled backstage practice, concert setlists, in-ear monitors, and instruments used by the members, providing touching experiences for ARMYs visiting the venue.
At the same time in Las Vegas, the BTS popup also featured exhibitions that maximized fan experience through themed experiential spaces. The basketball court from ‘Dynamite,’ the elevator from ‘Butter,’ and the self-laundry shop from ‘Permission to Dance’ music videos were vividly recreated, enhancing fan satisfaction. Additionally, 3D sculptures of BTS’s characters TinyTAN and a Dance Floor were installed, allowing visitors to take photos and experience feeling like the protagonists in BTS music videos.
Debuting in June 2013 with the single ‘2 COOL 4 SKOOL,’ BTS started as a notable rookie and rose to the top of K-pop within 9 years, engaging in diverse activities. Earlier in June, they announced via their YouTube channel that they would temporarily pause team activities and begin full-fledged individual activities, expanding their fields and writing a new Chapter 2.
A HYBE official said, “This exhibition is designed to allow visitors to experience BTS’s past, present, and future through various interactive content such as photos, objects, and videos,” adding, “We will create a space where people can reminisce about the records and moments BTS has achieved by proving their value through music.”
