The 1st Gangwon-do New Government Building Site Selection Committee Meeting Held

Operation Regulations (Draft), Major Progress Plan Report, Chairman Election, Discussion on Candidate Site Selection Criteria and Evaluation Methods

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province, following the announcement of the 'Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Government Building Construction Promotion Roadmap' (7.26.), has completed the formation of the Site Selection Committee and held the '1st Gangwon Province Government Building Construction Site Selection Committee' on the 31st.

The Site Selection Committee consists of a total of 17 members: 3 ex officio members and 14 appointed members (6 recommended, 8 publicly recruited).

At the meeting, the committee discussed the draft operating regulations, major progress plans, the election of the chairman, and the criteria and evaluation methods for selecting candidate sites.

Moon Il-jae, a member who previously served as Deputy Administrator of the Public Procurement Service and Planning Director of the Economic Free Zone Planning Division at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, was unanimously elected as chairman in recognition of his experience and administrative expertise.

The 2nd meeting is scheduled to be held on October 5.

Kim Han-su, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office of the province, stated, "We plan to carry out the site selection process for the government building construction transparently and fairly through the Site Selection Committee," adding, "We will explain the results to the residents every time the committee meets."
