[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it is recruiting participants for various performance and experience programs until the 15th to successfully host the '19th Nostalgic Gwangju Chungjang World Festival,' the largest urban street culture and arts festival in South Korea.
The 'Nostalgic Alumni Reunion,' a meeting place to share memories from school days, will be held under the theme 'Emotional Reunion' from October 13 to 15 at Geumnam-ro Park.
Eligible participants are elementary, middle, and high school alumni associations located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. Participants can receive support such as a stage, tables, MC for the event, and some performance teams for hosting the reunion.
The 'Retro Dance' and 'College Song Festival Returns' competitions, held in collaboration with the Line Cultural Foundation, will provide a stage for participants to freely showcase nostalgic songs and dances on October 14 at the main stage of the May 18 Democracy Square.
The 'Latte-neun (When I Was Young)' photo contest, which recalls citizens' memories through photos and stories, is a program where photos containing childhood and youthful memories are submitted and exhibited.
Judging will select a total of 27 works through on-site sticker voting by visitors during the festival period, from the preliminary selected entries.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "We are preparing various programs that people around the world can enjoy together to elevate the Chungjang Festival to a global festival," adding, "We will make every effort to prepare a safe festival where citizens can fully express their talents and capabilities."
Meanwhile, the '19th Nostalgic Gwangju Chungjang World Festival' will be held for five days from October 13 to 17 under the theme 'My Memory is Like a Movie' at the National Asian Culture Complex and throughout Dong-gu.
