Informal Communication Efforts of Park Wansu... Listening to the Voices of Hadong Residents

Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, visited Hadong County on the 30th and made this promise through an open dialogue with the residents.

About 200 people, including Ha Seung-cheol, Mayor of Hadong County, Lee Ha-ok, Chairman of the Hadong County Council, and local residents, attended the ‘Governor-Residents Dialogue’ held in the main conference room of Hadong County Office that day.

Governor Park personally presided over the dialogue with residents, listened to the current issues of Hadong County, attentively heard questions and opinions, and fostered communication and empathy by considering solutions from the residents’ perspective.

On site, various opinions were discussed, including daily life complaints such as proposals for roundabouts and speed enforcement cameras in road sections with high accident risks, as well as major proposals for the future development of Hadong County’s tourism industry.

Governor Park said, “Hadong has excellent natural scenery and distinctive culture and history, so it has great development potential, and these should be used as growth engines.”

He continued, “The development of Hadong County is the development of Gyeongnam,” and emphasized, “We will organize events to promote Hadong tea in Seoul and at the Blue House, and if necessary, invite ambassadors from around the world to turn Hadong tea into a tourism product.”

Governor Park met with young CEOs leading the rural convergence industry in Hadong and listened to their opinions, then urged, “Please work together to build a high value-added agricultural ecosystem based on excellent agricultural specialties.”

Afterward, Governor Park visited the Hadong County Council and discussed local issues with Chairman Lee and council members, pledging mutual cooperation for the successful hosting of the Hadong World Tea Expo next year.
