Suwon City Promotes Small-Scale 'Corporate Environment Improvement Project'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for a small-scale business environment improvement project targeting small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and knowledge industry centers in the area until the 19th of next month.

This project focuses on supporting improvements in labor and work environments for small and medium-sized enterprises and knowledge industry centers. Gyeonggi Province and Suwon City will cover up to 70% of the total project cost. For micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees, the support rate is up to 80%.

Looking at the main support project details, first, small and medium manufacturing companies with fewer than 200 employees will receive support for installation and renovation of dormitories, lounges, cafeterias, restrooms, and non-face-to-face digitalization projects. The support amount is up to 40 million KRW. Eligible companies must have been in business for more than one year after business registration, with a total project cost of at least 10 million KRW or an average annual sales of 30 billion KRW or less over the past three years.

Additionally, support is provided for workspace renovation, installation of ventilation and dust collection devices, LED lighting, installation and renovation of storage racks, workbenches, and self-installed fire safety facilities. This is targeted at small and medium manufacturing companies with fewer than 50 employees, with support amounts up to 20 million KRW. Eligibility requires being in business for more than one year after business registration and a minimum total project cost of 5 million KRW.

In particular, knowledge industry centers that have been completed for more than 10 years and operate projects with a total cost of 20 million KRW or more will receive support for renovation of public facilities such as parking lots and restrooms, as well as installation and renovation of aging machine rooms and self-installed fire safety facilities.

The city will conduct the first on-site inspection for applicant companies from the 20th to the 29th of next month, followed by a second on-site inspection in October, and will notify the review results in December.

Since 2016, Suwon City has supported a total of 840 million KRW for 39 companies through the small-scale business environment improvement project.
