GC Green Cross Holds Personalized Treatment Symposium for Hemophilia Patients

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] GCGreen Cross announced on the 29th that it held the ‘GC Biopharma & WAPPS-HEMO’ symposium for domestic hemophilia specialist medical staff at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on the 26th.


The symposium was organized to share the latest insights on hemophilia treatment. In the first session, chaired by Taeju Hwang, Executive Director of the Korea Hemophilia Foundation, and Sangkyu Park, Chairman of the Korea Hemophilia Foundation, Professor Eunjin Choi of Daegu Catholic University Hospital gave a presentation titled ‘Latest Insights on Hemophilia Treatment,’ covering the history and future of hemophilia treatment both domestically and internationally.


In the second session, chaired by Professor Cheolju Yoo of Severance Hospital, Sinchon, and Professor Sungki Kim (former President of the Hemophilia Research Association), presentations were given on ▲ the necessity of personalized treatment for hemophilia (Professor Youngsil Park, Kangdong Kyunghee University Hospital) and ▲ the clinical efficacy of pharmacokinetics (PK)-based personalized treatment in hemophilia patients (Chairman Kiyoung Yoo, Korea Hemophilia Foundation).


In the third session, Bongkyu Choi, Head of the Data Science Team at GC Green Cross, shared how to utilize WAPPS-HEMO under the theme ‘Introduction to Factor VIII Product-Specific Population PK Model and Personalized Treatment Platform.’


Sangkyu Park, Chairman of the Korea Hemophilia Foundation, emphasized the importance of personalized prophylaxis based on the PK profile of hemophilia patients, stating, “The personalized platform WAPPS-HEMO for patients prescribed GreenMono and GreenGeneF is expected to be a good prophylactic tool for hemophilia patients.”


A GC Green Cross official said, “This symposium was organized to consider the direction of patient-centered personalized treatment together with medical staff who work day and night to ensure patients receive optimized treatment in clinical settings,” adding, “We will continue to strive to help healthcare professionals build a better treatment environment for patients.”
