Geumcheon-gu COVID-19 Sequelae Relief Clinic Adds Korean Medicine Treatment

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has added traditional Korean medicine treatment to the existing Safe Clinic to care for the health of residents suffering from post-COVID-19 symptoms and help them return to daily life.

At the Safe Clinic, residents suffering from post-COVID-19 symptoms are evaluated through a doctor's post-symptom medical interview to assess their health condition. If necessary, chest X-rays, blood tests, and prescriptions are provided, and if specialized hospital treatment is required, residents are guided to relevant medical institutions.

Reflecting the diverse treatment demands for post-COVID-19 symptoms, Geumcheon-gu has added traditional Korean medicine treatment. As a result, users can now receive consultations with Korean medicine doctors and acupuncture treatment.

The treatment is available to residents aged 15 and older who have experienced post-COVID-19 symptoms 30 days after confirmation of infection. To use the service, residents must first make a phone reservation and then visit either the first treatment room on the 2nd floor or the traditional Korean medicine treatment room on the 3rd floor of the public health center.

The first treatment room operates three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) from 1 PM to 5 PM, and the traditional Korean medicine treatment room operates three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has completed the ecological stream restoration project to restore Siheung Valley, which was once a resting place for residents but whose water flow was cut off due to urbanization, to its former state.

Through the ecological stream restoration project, Geumcheon-gu has restored the old scenes and atmosphere of water play in this area and created a waterfront leisure space utilizing the beautiful natural resources of Siheung Valley.

Specifically, the project included ▲stream restoration (200m of central stream, 250m of southern stream) and installation of water circulation facilities (pumps, groundwater wells) ▲planting of 10,620 trees of 12 species including Korean nut trees ▲construction of barrier-free deck roads, wooden bridges, and walking trails ▲and installation of shade shelters and other rest facilities.

On the 27th, Geumcheon-gu held a completion ceremony at the Siheung Valley Water Mouth Rest Area. The theme of the event was "Summer Picnic," evoking nostalgia among middle-aged residents who played in Siheung Valley during the 1970s and 1980s childhood.

The completion ceremony was held as a cultural event in collaboration with the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation. Famous singer Choi Seong-su, known for the song "Pulip Sarang," and the country folk band The Worms performed, allowing residents attending the event to enjoy acoustic guitar music and healing time by the cool Siheung Valley.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "Siheung Valley, located at the foot of Hoamsan Mountain, has gentle slopes, dense surrounding forests, and cool valley water, making it an ideal family outing spot in summer. This restoration project is the starting point of the campaign promise to restore Siheung Valley, and we will make Siheung Valley even more beautiful through the creation of a landmark ecological park in the future."
