[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A fire broke out at a postpartum care center in Busan, causing over 100 newborns and mothers to evacuate urgently.
According to the Dongnae Police Station in Busan on the 27th, the fire occurred around 7:10 a.m. in the massage room on the 7th floor of a hospital's postpartum care center in Dongnae-gu.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the facility's half-body bath equipment was completely burned.
The nurse on duty at the time heard the fire alarm, checked, discovered the fire in the massage room, and reported it to 119.
Immediately, about 110 people including 36 newborns on the 7th floor, mothers, and nurses evacuated outside the building. Firefighters who arrived on the scene completely extinguished the fire around 7:30 a.m.
The fire department and the Dongnae Police Station's criminal duty team estimate that the half-body bath equipment overheated and ignited, and they plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire through an inspection.
