Ministry of Land Support: Up to 200,000 KRW per Month, 2.4 Million KRW Over 12 Months
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been recruiting candidates for the Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project, implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, for one year starting from the 22nd.
The Youth Monthly Rent Special Support Project is designed to alleviate the housing cost burden of young people facing economic difficulties by supporting up to 200,000 KRW per month for 12 months of rent.
The program targets young people aged 19 to 34 who are registered residents of the county, live separately from their parents, and reside in housing with a lease deposit of 50 million KRW plus monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less, and who do not own a home.
To allow more young people in housing support blind spots to benefit, applicants who own a house, lease a house within two degrees of kinship such as direct ascendants or siblings, live in public rental housing, reside in housing with a deposit exceeding 50 million KRW, or have received or are receiving youth monthly rent support from local governments are excluded.
Applications can be made both online and offline. Applicants can check eligibility through the mock calculation system on the Bokjiro website and apply, or apply at the local town or township office responsible for their address.
After application submission, support is decided through income and property investigation, and up to 200,000 KRW per month is paid in installments for 12 months within the range of actual rent paid. The payment period is from November 2022 to December 2024, and moving-in registration is mandatory.
