[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense announced on the 25th that five Chinese military aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
On the same day, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reported on its website that by 5 p.m., 15 Chinese military aircraft and 4 warships were detected near the Taiwan Strait.
Among them, five aircraft, including two JH-7 bombers and three Su-30 fighters, crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and then returned. Four J-11 fighters entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The median line of the Taiwan Strait is an unofficial boundary declared in 1955 by U.S. Air Force General Benjamin Davis after the mutual defense treaty between the United States and Taiwan was signed in December 1954, to prevent military clashes between China and Taiwan.
The Taiwanese military immediately scrambled fighter jets, issued warning broadcasts, and activated air defense missile systems to track the aircraft. China conducted blockade military exercises around Taiwan in response to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan (August 2?3). Although China declared the end of the exercises on the 10th, it has continued to demonstrate military force by repeatedly crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entering the ADIZ.
