Wando-gun Accelerates Establishment of Marine Healing Center Operation Manual

[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it is stepping up preparations for the smooth opening and operation of the Marine Healing Center.

Accordingly, on the 23rd, a mid-term report meeting was held at the county office situation room for the 'Establishment of Operation and Management Plan for Wando Marine Healing Center Facilities,' and the progress of detailed plans by sector for the operation of the Marine Healing Center was checked.

At the report meeting, through trend analysis in the therapy and wellness tourism sector, users of the Marine Healing Center were classified, and various marine healing programs with different functional purposes such as healing-centered, health promotion and disease prevention, beauty-related, and recuperation and relaxation types were presented.

In particular, the main seawater pool, which is the representative facility of the Marine Healing Center, was designed to operate various water therapy exercise programs such as underwater exercise, underwater aerobics, and underwater Nordic walking by utilizing space within the pool, along with stimulation therapy that relaxes muscles and promotes blood circulation through equipment using water pressure and bubbles.

In addition to the seawater pool, the facility was specialized with programs distinguishing features by facility, divided into wet therapy rooms using water such as Vichy showers, bath therapy, and meditation pools, and dry therapies such as aroma therapy, music therapy, and stone therapy to relax the mind and body and relieve stress.

Before the opening of the Marine Healing Center next year, the county plans to form selective welfare programs for corporate workers starting in the second half of this year, promote signing MOUs with public institutions and companies, and organize marine healing products linked with travel agencies for pre-promotion and marketing.

Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, said, “Stable operation of the Marine Healing Center is essential for the successful promotion of the marine healing industry,” and instructed, “We will thoroughly prepare to ensure no setbacks in the opening of the Marine Healing Center by reflecting expert advice and on-site operational know-how, and establishing meticulous sector-specific operation manuals that can satisfy customer demands.”

He added, “We must actively attract initial users of the Marine Healing Center by organizing regular programs for the health promotion of local residents and creating wellness products linked with local tourism resources.”

Meanwhile, the Marine Healing Center, which will serve as the control tower for the marine healing industry, is preparing to allow visitors to experience various marine healing programs during the Jeonnam Sports Festival and Jeonnam Disabled Sports Festival held in Wando after a pilot operation next year.
