Inclusion of Sustainable Management Goals and Implementation Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Hotel Lotte announced on the 24th that it has launched a corporate website featuring introductions to its hotel, duty-free, world, and resort business divisions, as well as its sustainability management goals and implementation activities.
The newly launched website was created to transparently disclose corporate activities for Hotel Lotte’s stakeholders and to firmly express its commitment to sustainability management. It includes diverse content such as the sustainability management vision, goals, strategic framework, and key activities. Last year, Hotel Lotte established dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) departments and a sustainability management council at its hotel HQ and each business division.
Hotel Lotte is focusing on establishing core objectives in the areas of environment, society, and customer value, and on developing systems applicable across overall management, such as introducing an environmental management system and achieving a great workplace. Specifically, large-capacity reusable dispensers have been introduced across all 17 domestic chains including Signiel, Lotte Hotel, L7 Hotel, and Lotte City Hotel. Lotte Duty Free became the first in the domestic industry to install solar power facilities covering approximately 4,000 pyeong. Lotte World has conducted 110 social contribution activities since 1995, providing memories to children battling illness through its characters Roti and Lori. Since 2012, Lotte Resort has annually invited children from orphanages to the resort for special experiences through its Love Sharing invitation events.
A Lotte Group official stated, “The corporate website will be used not only as an information disclosure channel but also as a meaningful communication platform for sustainability management. Going forward, we will continue to incorporate ESG perspectives across all management areas to manage environmental impacts from climate change, create social value, and establish a fair and transparent corporate governance structure.”
