[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City in Gyeongbuk has begun actively recruiting participants for the ‘One Week Living Program’ that allows people to stay in the area and enjoy its unique local culture, aiming to revive the local tourism economy through stay-type tourism activation.

The ‘One Week Living Program’ is a joint project conducted by the Haeoreum Alliance cities. Participants become members of the ‘Travel Participation Group’ and visit Pohang, Ulsan, and Gyeongju through individual free travel, exploring and experiencing major tourist attractions in each city while promoting the travel destinations together.

During the travel period (8.19.~11.13.), participants can freely travel to at least two of the three cities for a minimum of 2 nights and 3 days up to a maximum of 6 nights and 7 days. They receive reimbursement benefits of up to 50,000 KRW per night for accommodation and up to 100,000 KRW per person for experience fees. Additionally, they must post at least two experience reviews per day on their personal SNS accounts.

To apply, refer to the ‘One Week Living Program of Haeoreum Alliance Cities’ recruitment announcement on the Pohang City website and send the application form via email. For more details, contact the dedicated operation office for the One Week Living Program.

Park Sangjin, Director of the Tourism Industry Division, said, “The Haeoreum Alliance among Pohang, Ulsan, and Gyeongju are special cultural tourism cities with many geographical and historical commonalities as part of the Silla cultural sphere, each with rich tourism attractions. We hope this program provides an opportunity to fully experience and heal through the unique charms of the three cities.”
