Kibo, Expansion of Work Automation Robots... "Leading Digital Financial Innovation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 22nd that it has successfully implemented Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which collaborates with robots, across all internal operations.

RPA (Robot Process Automation) is a technology that automates repetitive tasks across multiple systems in an IT environment, acting like a personal assistant robot to help with work. Kibo's automation system is applied to a variety of tasks ranging from simple administrative duties such as approval of overtime work records, approval of accounting reports, and tracking registered mail, to basic accounting processes like settlement of technology evaluation fees and allocation of installment repayments, as well as collecting exchange rate information, gathering audit reports from the electronic disclosure system, and collecting corporate information reports. Since 2019, Kibo has been incorporating a 'virtualized automation system' using RPA into its operations, and last year it fully applied RPA to 74 tasks, expecting to reduce over 44,000 hours of work annually.

Recently, Kibo also promoted internal work innovation by holding an 'RPA Bot Competition' at the Talent Development Center, utilizing a PC-exclusive system that allows users to change tasks as needed and receive immediate results. Outstanding projects that demonstrated excellent innovation in this competition will be applied to the 'virtualized automation system' running on the central server in the future, expanding company-wide.

Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, "Through continuous expansion of automation and internal robot competitions, all Kibo employees have become more interested in digital financial innovation collaborating with robots," adding, "Kibo will continue to promote digital financial innovation to improve work efficiency and effectively provide support services for small and medium-sized enterprises."
