Samsung Electronics President Lee In-yong Meets East Timor Leader, Requests Cooperation for Busan Expo Samsung Electronics CR Head President Lee In-yong (left in the photo) met with President Jose Ramos-Horta in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, on the 19th (local time) to introduce Samsung Electronics' activities and request support for the 2030 Busan Expo bid.


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Electronics met with the President and Prime Minister of the South Pacific country Timor-Leste to introduce Samsung Electronics' key developments and request cooperation for hosting the '2030 Busan World Expo.'


According to Samsung Electronics on the 21st, Lee In-yong, Head of CR, met consecutively with Timor-Leste President Jos? Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, on the 19th (local time) to explain Samsung Electronics' innovative technology cases and social contribution activities. He also asked for support in hosting the '2030 Busan World Expo.'


Samsung Electronics also unveiled outdoor advertisements containing messages supporting the hosting of the '2030 Busan World Expo' in Timor-Leste. These ads, featuring greetings in Portuguese and Tetum, the local official languages, saying "Korea sends greetings to you," are installed throughout the city, including at Dili International Airport and in front of the Presidential Office, the 'Nicolau Lobato Presidential Palace,' informing locals about the Busan Expo.


As a member of the public-private joint '2030 Busan World Expo Hosting Committee,' Samsung Electronics has also actively supported hosting efforts in Latin America. Lee Jae-seung, President of Samsung Electronics' Consumer Electronics Division, visited three Latin American countries?El Salvador, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic?to check on local business status and meet key officials in each country.


In Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, Lee held talks with President Luis Abinader to discuss digital technology cooperation and social contribution activities. Earlier, on the 16th and 17th, he had informal talks with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador and President Rodrigo Chaves of Costa Rica, respectively, requesting support for hosting the '2030 Busan World Expo.'


Additionally, No Tae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics' MX Division, attended the 'Samsung Innovation Campus' event, a youth technology education program, and the '60th Anniversary of Korea-Panama Diplomatic Relations Economic Cooperation Reception' in Panama City, the capital of Panama, on the 16th (local time). He met with Yazm?n Col?n de Cortizo, First Lady of Panama, and Federico Alfaro Boyd, Minister of Commerce and Industry, among others.
